Day 4

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” - Matthew 6:33–34

What if every time worry knocked on the door today, instead of letting it inside, you allowed it to become a reminder to seek God? The very thing the enemy uses to distract you could become the thing that drives you back into God's presence.

Jesus gives us something practical to do with worry.

Seek first His kingdom.

We cannot simply tell ourselves, “Stop worrying.”

Our minds don't work that way.

If you've ever been lying awake at 2:00 a.m. and told yourself, Stop thinking about this, you know how effective that usually is.

You need a replacement.

Jesus gives you one.

Instead of allowing worry to become your focus, redirect your attention toward God.

Instead of worry, worship.

This isn't denial.

Worship doesn't mean pretending the problem disappeared.

It means deciding that the problem will not occupy the highest place in your heart.

Consider Paul and Silas in Acts 16.

They had been beaten and thrown into prison. Their feet were fastened in stocks.

They had plenty to worry about.

What happens tomorrow?

Are we getting out?

Will we be killed?

Why did God allow this?

Instead, Scripture says that around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God.

Their circumstances had not changed yet.

But their focus had.

That's worship.

Worship says:

“God, You are still good here.”

“You are still sovereign here.”

“You are still worthy here.”

“I still belong to You here.”

Today, put this into practice.

Every time you recognize worry, turn it into a spiritual prompt.

When you worry about money:

“Father, You are my provider. Give me wisdom to steward what You've entrusted to me.”

When you worry about your children:

“God, these children belonged to You before they belonged to me. Give me wisdom to parent faithfully and faith to entrust them to You.”

When you worry about work:

“Jesus, my identity is not my position, paycheck, success, or approval. My life belongs to You.”

When you worry about health:

“Father, my life is in Your hands. Help me make wise decisions without allowing fear to rule me.”

When you worry about tomorrow:

“God, give me today's grace for today's responsibilities.”

Notice Jesus' words: “Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Jesus isn't saying tomorrow won't have trouble.

He's saying don't carry tomorrow's trouble today.

God gives daily grace.

But worry tries to make you carry tomorrow without tomorrow's grace.

No wonder you're exhausted.

You're carrying things God never asked you to carry yet.

So make this practical.

Choose one worry that repeatedly enters your mind today.

Every time it appears, worship.

Maybe play a worship song.

Maybe stop and thank God for three things.

Maybe quote a promise from Scripture.

Maybe pray for someone else.

Maybe simply whisper the name of Jesus.

Train your heart to create a new pathway:

Worry appears → I turn toward God.

Over time, something begins changing.

The circumstance may not change immediately.

But you begin changing.

The thorn no longer gets unlimited access to your attention.

You're pulling it before it can choke the seed.

You cannot control every thought that enters your mind.

But you can decide which thoughts receive your attention.

You can worry.

Or you can worship.

Today, every time worry says, “What if?”

Let worship answer:

“Even if, God is still God.”
